A well defined brow can really open up the eyes and create a dramatic effect.
1: Comb First comb the brows in place to assess the shape. If you're after a natural look, work with the arch of your natural brow line by copying the line of the curve of the top of the brow, on the bottom. If it's your first time, try using a white pencil or concealer over the area you want to pluck. This way you can check that both eyes are symmetrical before starting.
2: Shape Next, following the 'Beginning, Arch, End' rule (see below), gently pull the skin taut above the brow bone area. With your free hand use tweezers to pluck away the hairs in the direction that they grow.
3: Finish Finish by soothing the skin with damp cotton pads and toner. Wait for them to calm down before applying make-up. Then take your pencil/eyebrow make-up and draw in any spaces to help create the shape you want.
Beginning, Arch, End rule:
1: Beginning Your starting point for plucking is the inner corner of the eye. To gauge the correct starting position, take a brush and hold it vertically against your eye.
2: Arch The arch is the high point of the eyebrow and can vary from person to person and the look you want to achieve.
3: End Place a brush at the end of the nose and hold diagonally so it crosses the outer corner of the eye and extends beyond it to the eyebrow.This should be the natural end to the brow and is the most flattering for framing the face. |
